Getting started

Getting started Before using yatish you need to create your personal yatish directory and copy there the squeleton SQLite database installed system-wide.

The actual paths depend on the system you are using

Linux: create a .yatish directory in your $HOME and copy there /usr/local/share/yatish/yatish.sqlite;
Windows: create a yatish directory under your AppData\Local\ and copy there C:\Windows\Program files\Yatish\sql\yatish.sqlite.

N.B. This procedure is not quite user-friendly but now you know where are your yatish data :-) For instance you can choose to archive yatish.sqlite once a year and reset the current one...

Then when you start yatish for the first time, the selectors are empty and all controls are actually disabled:

This is normal: you must first populate the yatish tables with at least a few items.

The procedure is described in the next pages and cannot be done on your behalf because it depends heavily on what you use yatish for.
